Today I am sharing some of my favorite snaps from New York Fashion Week. I personally just love photography. No matter where I am, I am constantly inspired to photograph every detail that catches my eye (especially if there is good lighting). So you can only imagine how I feel at fashion week in New York. It's honestly a challenge to capture everything. Especially when I am trying to capture photos like these for my blog and on my phone for instagram and snapchat - but I am at FASHION WEEK, so I make it work! Although I could take photos from the "pit" at the end of the runway, to get those picture-perfect photos you see on many sites like style.com, I just love taking photos from my seat on the sidelines of the runway.

From my vantage point, I am able to focus on and capture the details, rather than the head-to-toe look. And, you know, it's really in the details where you find all of the good stuff. In the details you notice the designer's influences within a collection and the next season's trends. Although most designers are designing for a certain kind of girl or lifestyle, rather than creating trendy of-the-moment pieces, throughout the 20 or so shows I attended there are definitely commonalities. These commonalities will most likely be noted as the "trends of the season" by your favorite fashion magazines come spring.

Since Milan Fashion Week is just starting and then Paris (London just wrapped), it's hard to say overall which trends or influences will be strongest for the Spring/Summer 2016 season. Nevertheless, I can't help but notice the overwhelmingly strong presence of lace, embroidery or appliqués, and sheer fabrics. The most interesting part to me was the broad use of the fabrics. It wasn't all uber-femine, but rather a mix of perspectives and translations. Lace was powerful on one runway, Victorian on another, and ultra-modern on the next. This, however, is the perfect example of how trends may crossover between designer but each translates the trend for their own customer. This so appeals to me because I prefer to switch my style from day-to-day. One day I may feel like being a jetset boho girl wearing Rachel Zoe and the next I'll want to feel smart and effortless in Yigal Azrouël.
