Sharing more photos today from my recent trip to California. On this day, I explored one of my favorite cities in the area, Santa Monica. It's such a great location to visit because it simply has it all: the beach, the shopping, the food. Third Street Promenade in the downtown area of Santa Monica is a favorite shopping street of mine. What's better is that as you make you are way down the south end of the famous street, you'll eventually hit the Santa Monica Place shopping mall (the gold at the end of the rainbow, if you will)! Santa Monica Place is a modern outdoor shopping mall boasting a Nordstrom, Barneys New York, Louis Vuitton, Diane von Furstenburg, Ted Baker, and more. What more can I say?!

After making my rounds at all of my fav stores, I explored the 100-year-old Santa Monica Pier located at the foot of Colorado Avenue. As you might know, this pier isn't your average pier. The Santa Monica Pier boasts a family amusement park and solar-paneled Ferris wheel. I visited on a Saturday so the pier was buzzing with people. Although I didn't take a spin on the ferris wheel, I was happy just taking in the amazing view of the beach from the pier. I must add that checking-off my Santa Monica checklist definitely worked up an appetite. Lunch and dinner locations included, Water Grill and Ivy at the Shore.

For a day like today, I decided to make a colorful splash in a striped romper and co-ordinating blazer. Made from a fabulous stretch rayon, the romper is oh so comfy. The contrasting stripes add nice interest to the look while the white blazer creates a polished silhouette. The combo of the two was the perfect shopping-to-beach look. Oh, and the romper has pockets - so, what is not to love?!

While I didn't lodge in Santa Monica for this trip, I would highly-recommend the Loews Santa Monica Beach hotel for anyone interested in staying in the area.
