After spending several days in Nice, France I departed for the town of Saint-Tropez!  A coastal town on the French Riviera, it has long been popular with artists and is famous for attracting the international "jet set" during the 1960s. Today, the city rightly remains known for its beaches, shopping, and nightlife. From local food markets to chic boutiques, Saint-Tropez has it all.

Although several tour guides suggested skipping Saint-Tropez, saying it wasn't as fabulous as it's built up to be, I'd have to disagree and say that a day in Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera was paradise! It was a surreal experience walking the cobblestone streets and counting the yachts in the port. Saint-Tropez is definitely one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen. For such a picturesque location, I opted to wear a silk wide-leg pant and tie hem blouse knotted at the midriff for a chic nautical look. Once in Saint-Tropez, I couldn't believe how beautifully the pant's "Riviera" watercolor motif matched the harbor's water. The artful energy of fluid silk pants made them a dream to wear.

I have to add that I was pleasantly surprised to discover the city's large selection of brand-name boutiques. Where you'd expect to find the boucherie (butcher) or boulangerie (bakery) snuggled into a narrow street or alley, in St Tropez you'll find Céline and Dolce & Gabbana. For anyone traveling there in the near future, I found that most of the luxury shopping was located on three main streets, Rue François Sibilli, Rue Gambetta and Boulevard Vasserot.
